Aric Almirola Dominates Saturday Night's Late Model Race at Caraway Speedway
As the green flag dropped for the 100 lap event, Almirola, driver of the No. 92 Home Depot/Rockwell Automation Chevrolet, lined up from the third position but wasn’t there very long. Before the first lap was in the record book Almirola moved up to take second position and by lap five he was leading the race. By lap twelve Almirola put on a dominating performance, leading the race by almost a full strait away form the second place car. On lap 50 a competition yellow was showed to the field. As the green flag once again waived and field once again went back to racing, Almirola would not look back, and went on to win the 100 lap event at Caraway Speedway. The win was the second time the No. 92 Home Depot/Rockwell Automation Chevrolet was in victory lane this season. The team has been touring select tracks through North Carolina and Virginia this season, competing in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series. The No. 92 Home Depot/Rockwell Automation Chevrolet is powered by Joe Gibbs Racing oil which is the same oil used in all Joe Gibbs Racing engines. Almirola had this to say about winning at Caraway Speedway… “It was good to bring the No.92 Home Depot Chevrolet to Victory Lane tonight. This is the first time I’ve ever raced at Caraway,” said Almirola. “My team works hard and I’m glad to be able to get the win tonight for them, as well as everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing, Home Depot, Rockwell Automation and Coca Cola,” Almirola said. |
