Chris Bristol Battles Tight Race Car - Comes Home Fourth at Hickory Motor Speedway

HICKORY, NC – After qualifying the No. 92 MBNA/Rockwell Automation Chevrolet seventh for this week’s 50 lap Late Model race at Hickory Motor Speedway, Chris Bristol looked ahead to getting back into victory lane.

Early in the race Bristol began to make his charge to the front, driving the No. 92 MBNA/Rockwell Chevrolet into the top-5. As the race went on, Bristol managed to get up as high as third before he began to battle a tight race car.

Being the driver that Bristol is, the No.92 MBNA/ Rockwell Automation driver managed to bring the car home fourth. Scott Kilby went on to victory lane after taking a week off from racing at Hickory Motor Speedway. Bristol also received the Bellsouth Real Deal Yellow Pages award, this is the second time he has received this award this season.

“I managed to get up to third before having battle a tight condition. It’s not the finish we wanted but, we gained drivers points towards the championship. It’s early in the season. We still have a lot of races ahead of us. We know we’ve got a chance to win every week the No. 92 MBNA/Rockwell Chevrolet hits the track,” said Bristol.

Bristol is currently second in drivers’ points just 30 points behind Keith Bumgarner who currently leads the points battle.

The No. 92 MBNA/Rockwell Chevrolet Racing Team returns to Hickory Motor Speedway on June 18th.
