Start: 11th
Finish: 17th

Hickory, NC – Chris Bristol was hoping to make it into victory lane this past weekend, but ran into some bad luck instead. After practice, Chris and the #92 MBNA team made some set-up changes to the late model Chevrolet and qualified 11th for the 100-lap race.

The changes did little good as Chris lost several positions struggling against what he called a “terrible” racecar. Chris was caught up in a wreck on the 23rd lap when the #4 car of James Edwards spun coming out of turn four. Chris was unable to avoid him, literally climbing the hood of the #4 car.

Both cars were towed to their pits for repairs. The MBNA team replaced the radiator in the #92 car and after losing several laps, Chris was able to continue the race. Chris was unable to make-up the lost positions due to the ill-handling car and finished 17th out of 21 cars.

Chris commented on his weekend:

“The race car was horrible at the start of the race and it was all I could do to hang on as we lost positions. After the wreck, we went back out to finish the end of the race but there wasn’t a whole lot we could do at that point,” Chris said.

He continued, “I’d like to thank all our sponsors – MBNA, Rockwell Automation, Coke and Cintas.”
