DID YOU KNOW?

Last week in New Hampshire, J.J. Yeley finished sixth and scored his fourth top-10 finish in his last six races.

J.J. Yeley qualified his Vigoro/Home Depot Chevrolet 10th at New Hampshire, marking his 12th top-10 start in 2005. In the 20 NASCAR Busch Series races completed this year, three of those had the starting lineup established by owner's points. In the 17 races where qualifying speed set the field, Yeley has scored the most top-10 starts of any Busch Series competitor (12).

This weekend's NASCAR Busch Series race at Pikes Peak will mark Yeley's first ever NASCAR event at the facility, but it will not be his first trip to Pikes Peak International Raceway. Yeley has competed in four USAC events in the last three years at the facility, scoring one second, one third, and two fourth-place finishes.

The Vigoro/Home Depot team will bring Chassis #1854 to Pikes Peak. Yeley raced this particular car at Bristol this year where he finished 21st.

J.J. Yeley is currently 14th in NASCAR Busch Series driver points. Just six races ago Yeley was 22nd as the circuit traveled to Nashville. But with four top-10 finishes in his last six races, Yeley has moved all the way up to 14th and is just 32 points behind 13th and 197 points behind 10th.

QUOTES

Driver J.J. Yeley on last week's race at New Hampshire - "Everyone is starting to take notice that our Vigoro/Home Depot team has turned the corner. Jason Ratcliff is just a really great crew chief, and we've got an awesome team at Joe Gibbs Racing. We've still got plenty of room for improvement because we're definitely not satisfied with running sixth, but it shows how much progress we've made in a short time."

Driver J.J. Yeley on this week's race in Pikes Peak - "I really enjoy going out to Pikes Peak and racing at their facility. I flew out there earlier this year and ran third in the Silver Crown race, and I had a shot at the win but I was a little too tough on my tires and they went away on me in the closing laps. But because I've got so many laps on the track, I'm very comfortable at Pikes Peak. We're looking for another good finish this weekend and we'll try to get a little closer to the top 10 in points."
