Indianapolis, IN (August 8, 2005) - J.J. Yeley finished 13th at Indianapolis Raceway Park on Saturday night in his Vigoro Ultra Turf Summer Fertilizer/Home Depot Chevrolet. That finish snapped a streak of three straight top-10 finishes, but Yeley remained 12th in the overall driver's standings. "We just never really got a good handle on this car all day," said Yeley. "We were too tight in the center of the corner and a little loose off. We got the exit fixed by the end of the race, but our car pushed in the middle all night long. But we came away with a decent finish and we'll have another shot for a win next week."

Yeley qualified 19th on Saturday afternoon and moved up two positions to 17th when heavy rain showers engulfed the track on Lap 55. NASCAR displayed the red flag for over an hour until they were finally able to get the track dried and ready for competition.

The teams were back to green-flag racing on Lap 65 and Yeley marched into the top 15 on Lap 70. Yeley ran as high as 11th when the caution flag was displayed for an accident on Lap 101. The Vigoro/Home Depot team made several adjustments to their Chevrolet during the caution flag period, and Yeley fell back to 18th.

When the race resumed, Yeley moved back inside the top 15 but would never run any higher than 13th when he took the checkered flag on Lap 204. "Finishing 13th was certainly not what we wanted, but we finished all of the laps and wound up with a respectable finish despite battling with an ill-handling car. Jason Ratcliff and the rest of the guys at Joe Gibbs Racing will get us back on track and we'll get inside the top 10 in points before the season is finished."

Yeley and his Vigoro/Home Depot teammates will travel to Michigan International Speedway this week to test the two-mile facility in preparation for the Domino's 250 on Saturday, August 20th. This weekend Yeley will join the rest of the NASCAR Busch Series teams at Watkins Glen International for the second and final road course visit on the 2005 schedule. Qualifying will be at 9:00 AM EST on Saturday on Speed while the race will be televised at 2:00 PM EST on NBC.
