Labonte Qualifies 15th for United Way 300 Busch RaceKANSAS CITY, Kan., Oct. 7, 2005 – Bobby Labonte qualified 15th for the United Way 300 NASCAR Busch Series event during Busch Pole Qualifying Oct. 7 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. Labonte turned a lap of 30.517 seconds, 176.915 in the No. 19 Banquet Chevrolet. “It was a decent lap for us,” Labonte said. “I think we could have been a little bit better, but we’ve got a good car for the race. It’s a big weekend for Banquet and ConAgra Foods, so we’re going to try to put the Banquet Chevy Monte Carlo up front.” Labonte’s teammates, Denny Hamlin and J.J. Yeley, qualified 31st and 41st, respectively. Justin Labonte, Bobby’s nephew, qualified 22nd. Earlier in the day, Labonte was 28th in “Happy Hour” practice for the Banquet 400 presented by ConAgra Foods. Labonte turned a lap of 30.682, 175.999 in the No. 18 Interstate Batteries Chevrolet. Bud Pole Qualifying for the Banquet 400 begins at 11:30 (EDT) and will be broadcast live on SpeedChannel and MRN. The United Way 300 starts at 2 p.m. (EDT) and will be broadcast live on NBC and MRN. |
