In their last NASCAR Busch Series race, Yeley posted a career-best finish at Memphis when he scored a runner-up finish to Clint Bowyer. *Climbing up the ladder...After J.J. Yeley's strong showing at Memphis, he moved up two positions to 11th in the overall NASCAR Busch Series standings. Yeley is just 47 points out of the top 10. *History at Texas...J.J. Yeley is looking to turn around his historical performance at Texas Motor Speedway. In his rookie year in 2004 while running a partial schedule, Yeley qualified 18th but suffered an accident on the second lap, ending his day with a finish of 42nd. Earlier in 2005, Yeley was running in the top 10 at Texas when he spun and hit the wall with 25 laps to go. Yeley brought his damaged machine home in 22nd. *J.J.'s rocket...The #18 team will bring Chassis #1860 as its primary car to Texas. The last time J.J. Yeley raced with this particular chassis was at Kentucky Speedway in June, where he qualified fourth and finished seventh. QUOTES J.J. Yeley - "We've very optimistic about our chances for a good run in Texas. Our teammate, Bobby Labonte, tested a JGR car at Texas, and it went very well. So we're confident that we'll have a good setup underneath us this week." J.J. Yeley - "Texas hasn't exactly been my best track. I enjoy racing there because the fans are unbelievable. They really love their racing there, and that makes it fun to put on a good show for them. Hopefully the first one to the checkered flag on Saturday will be our Vigoro / Home Depot Chevrolet." |
