Joe Gibbs Racing development drivers Joey Logano and Marc Davis packed a 1-2 punch in Thursday night’s Alphatrade.com 150 NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series race at Phoenix International Raceway by finishing first and second, respectively.
The 17-year-old Logano held off his 16-year-old teammate in a green-white-checker finish, as the race was extended eight laps past its scheduled 150-lap distance. Logano’s margin of victory over Davis was 1.3 seconds. Both drivers carried the colors of Joe Gibbs Driven, a licensing program for the automotive aftermarket that features a line of racing lubricants.
“Forget about winning, it’s awesome just to race at a great track like Phoenix,” said Logano, a native of Middletown, Conn. “One-for-one, my first event – that’s hard to beat.”

| Marc Davis' (Car 92) second race of 2007 netted him a second-place finish. |
Davis’ runner-up result gave Joe Gibbs Racing its first 1-2 finish since Tony Stewart and former Joe Gibbs Racing driver Bobby Labonte finished 1-2 in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 1999.
“I wish we could’ve gotten the win,” said Davis of Silver Spring, Md., “but if we’ve got to lose, I’m glad it could be to a teammate.”
Finishing behind Logano and Davis in third was Mike David, while Jeff Barkshire and Jesus Hernandez rounded out the top-five. Eric Richardson, Todd Souza, Ryan Foster, Alex Haase and Tim Woods III comprised the remainder of the top-10.
The next event for the Gibbs duo is the April 28 NASCAR Busch East Series season-opening race at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, S.C.
