To stay on top and win championships, it takes state of the art equipment and talented people all working together for a common goal - winning races at the highest levels. Each week a new segment, feature, or article will profile what goes on behind the scenes with the equipment, parts and people that are DRIVEN to WIN!

Preparing the cars for each week's race is literally a race between races, as new components are engineered and fabricated between Sunday night and Thursday. The company relies on a Flow waterjet to accelerate its manufacturing pace to meet the grueling deadlines.

Since the inception of Joe Gibbs Racing fifteen years ago, the man leading the strategy on the racing side of the business has been Jimmy Makar. First as crew chief of the #18 car and now as Senior Vice President of Racing Operations.  The results are over fifty Nextel Cup wins and three Nextel Cup Championships – and a lot of great stories and insight. Joe Gibbs Driven was able to sit down with Jimmy and discuss his ride and what makes him look to the future.
