Xfinity Body Fabricator

Responsibilities:

  • Use fabrication techniques and equipment to install body panels on JGR Nascar Xfinity Series chassis.

  • Measure and meet tolerance requirements per engineering build specifications.

  • Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with Nascar rules, and JGR quality standards.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

 

Requirements:

  • 1+ years experience as a Fabricator in the racing industry

  • Demonstrated ability to set up and operate metal fabrication equipment

  • Proficiency in MIG welding is required; TIG welding experience is a plus

  • Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, rules, squares, indicators

  • Experience using portable CMM’s (Romer, Faro, etc) is a plus

  • Desire to work in a collaborative, demanding, and fast-paced development environment

  • Flexibility in work hours and patience with a dynamic schedule

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the team.

  • Previous experience in NASCAR Cup, NXS, or Truck series is a significant advantage.

Facilities Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a versatile and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role is not only crucial for maintaining our facility's systems but also involves a range of handyman services. The ideal candidate will be adept in handling various maintenance tasks, ensuring both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of our facility.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

·       Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks with a strong focus on:

o   HVAC systems to ensure operational efficiency and reliability.

o   Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems of the facility to prevent malfunctions and ensure compliance with safety standards.

·       Perform basic handyman services, including but not limited to:

o   Preventive maintenance on the interior and exterior of the building to uphold structural and operational integrity.

o   Painting tasks to maintain and improve the aesthetic appeal of the facility.

o   Assistance in moving furniture and equipment as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

·       Conduct thorough facility inspections to uphold compliance with all relevant City, County, and State codes and ordinances.

·       Be readily available to respond to emergency situations, providing effective solutions to minimize impact.

·       Provide support for after-hours building needs and activities, displaying flexibility and dedication to facility requirements.

 

Qualifications

 

·       High School diploma or equivalent educational background.

·       Preferred but not required, State license or certification in HVAC and electrical systems and CFC license.

·       Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in a variety of handyman tasks.

·       A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role, with a proven track record in both technical maintenance and general handyman services.

Vehicle Production Engineer

We have a full-time opening in our Vehicle Systems Group.

 

Job Summary

 

As a Vehicle Production Engineer, you will support all areas of vehicle production.  Your primary responsibility will be to provide quality support across all departments of vehicle production.  If you are an engineer who enjoys process management, data analysis, and production of high-quality vehicles, send in your resume for our opening.  

 

Responsibilities

  1. Identify areas for improved vehicle production efficiency

  2. Work within all production departments to provide a coordinated schedule

  3. Work with vendors on required documentation and 

  4. Coordinate supply of vehicle components from vendors

  5. Coordinate production data collection, perform analysis of measurements

  6. Communicate required improvements and process changes

  7. Manage documentation of completed work across multiple departments

  8. No travel required

 

Qualifications

  • A.S or B.S. Degree in an Engineering Discipline

  • Ability to interact positively with multiple departments

  • Ability to embrace change in a fast paced environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • An inquisitive nature and an innate ability to see differences and details between seemingly similar items

  • Ability to work in a group and/or alone on multiple projects, with variable and often very tight timelines

  • Ability to create planned strategies for problem solving, including coordinating tests and writing test plans

  • Ability to work in an active environment without losing focus on required deadlines

  • Use of common workplace Microsoft tools including Office, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote, etc.

  • Computer programing skills are desirable (VBA, Matlab, Python, etc)

Performance Engineer

Job Summary

As a Performance Engineer for Joe Gibbs Racing, you will play a key role in facilitating the needs of the trackside race teams.  The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of high-level motorsport engineering experience, centering around race engineering tasks with deep involvement in vehicle simulation.  A high concern for quality, an ability to independently produce high-quality results, and skills to manage and process high volumes of complex data in a high-pressure environment is necessary.

 

Reporting to Race Engineering Group

 

Typical Responsibilities

  • Develop, refine, validate, and maintain simulation baselines for distribution to the race teams

  • Assist DIL program with accurate simulation models and simulation validation studies

  • Facilitate DIL tests to bridge the gap between the track and simulation

  • Track, understand, and document the ramifications of evolving vehicle aerodynamics on simulation behavior

  • Provide simulation help desk support to trackside teams

  • Perform pre-event setup parameter sensitivity simulation studies

  • Perform race meeting setup comparison evaluation studies

  • Perform post-event investigations

  • Develop and maintain efficient software tools for race engineering functions

  • Assist vehicle design and aerodynamics groups with focused simulation studies

  • Attend track test events to assure proper data collection and perform on-site validation

  • Assist simulation development group in simulation suite testing

  • Collaborate with race team, simulation development, and software groups to guide simulation development direction

  • Perform a variety of physical tests
     

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering

  • At least 2 years' experience in professional motorsports, working primarily in a simulation or race engineering role

  • Experience with full-vehicle simulation application and analysis

  • Experience with Matlab & Python Programming Language

  • Experience in tire characterization and aerodynamics

  • Desire to work in a collaborative, demanding, and fast-paced development environment

  • Strong organizational and communication skills; significant outward communication is required

  • High concern for quality and pride in individual work

Typical Responsibilities

•              Organize and manage CFD program

•              Increase CFD correlation to wind tunnel and racetrack results

•              Support and excel wind tunnel efforts 

•              Maintain records necessary for NASCAR 

 

Experience and Skills

•              10+ years’ CFD experience in NASCAR, professional motorsports, or other high-level engineering environment

•              Experience using STAR-CCM+ and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, OneNote, SharePoint, etc.)

•              Experience using Siemens NX CAD software is a plus

•              Ability to integrate seamlessly into our existing Aero Group

•              Capability of managing priorities and meeting deadlines

•              Desire to work in a collaborative, demanding, and fast-paced development environment
