2025 SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
General Requirements/Information

Interns must be current students at an accredited college or university

Interns must be able to receive course credit for their internship with JGR through their school

Written verification from intern’s school that they will be receiving course credit is also required
-
Internship program will run generally from the beginning of June through mid-August 2024
-
Select weekends will be required for certain positions to travel to NASCAR racing events
-
Internships will take place at Joe Gibbs Racing headquarters in Huntersville, NC

1. Social/Digital Media Internship
Reports to: Director of Social/Digital Media
Essential Job Functions:
-
Ability and motivation to capture, create, produce, and post content (video, written, photo, etc.)
-
Major Plus: A personal or professional social media channel that shows past work will be a major plus, especially TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram Reels
-
Good writing abilities, solid grammar and spelling, and basic familiarity with styles of copywriting
-
The desire and ability to uncover stories (both small and large) and publish them (be it in the form of social media posts, blogs, video, etc.)

Brainstorm and ideate around team goals and priorities.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills -
This position requires a team player and someone who thrives in a highly collaborative environment.

Junior or Senior standing at 4-year accredited University or College.

2. Performance Engineering Internship
Essential Job Functions:​

Provide driver-in-loop simulator support
-
Assist with event specific simulation assessments
-
Develop in-house soft tools for data analysis
-
Travel to track tests to provide engineering support
-
Attend department meetings, contribute to team discussions, including asking questions around planning, execution, and conclusions reached on the assigned tasks
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
-
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an ABET-Accredited program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
-
Junior or Senior level undergraduate status
-
Cumulative 3.5/4.0 GPA, or higher
-
Willing to learn, dependable, and would work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
-
Experience preferred in MS Office applications and MATLAB/Simulink.

Excellent teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a rapidly moving environment​
